Crash claims life of St. Joseph woman

A two-vehicle crash on Sunday night east of St. Joseph resulted in the death of a 62-year-old St. Joseph woman.

Rebecca Gerald, 62, of St. Joseph was declared dead at the scene of the crash on Rt. 150.

Illinois State Police said the accident occurred at 8:38 p.m. Sunday.

The other driver, a 15-year-old female from Homer, and her passenger William Wallace, 47, also of Homer, were transported by ambulance to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Gerald was traveling west on Rt. 150, crossed the center line and hit the other car, that was traveling east.

The roadway was closed for approximately 6 hours for the crash investigation.
