Get to know Senior SJO Marching Band member Allegra Pearman

My favorite thing about marching band is the very end of the show when the dust settles and the cheering of the audience mixes with the power behind the show’s last chord.

My favorite memory was when we swept a competition in my junior year. We had never come anywhere close to doing something like that and the excitement and tears really showed how much we all cared for this sport.

One of my favorite high school pieces we’ve played has to be Everest from my freshman year concert season.

Our Decomposers costume is my favorite hands down. Despite how annoying the rats (that’s what we called our wigs) were, they really brought the outfit together and the coat is still super cool looking.

I think many people think that it’s way easier or way harder than it actually is. Marching band is something anyone can do as long as they are willing to put in the time and can keep a steady beat.
