Public comment time:

Jim Page: Good evening, Mayor and Trustees. Representing several parents who have issues with the high school soccer field. Page taking issue with the hot air balloon that was in the “middle of the high school soccer field.”

“There is no long-term damage to the field besides tire tracks,” Page said. Page is saying that he is unhappy and wasn’t happy when he heard about it. Saying it was disrespectful and thoughtless to run the event on the soccer field.

Just a reminder that the soccer field belongs to the village and there is an intergovernmental agreement with the school district but no school district representative is here.

Commenting on the status of the field. He feels the village isn’t maintaining it. I have heard this complaint before. Apparently, the field is bumpy and kids turn their ankles.

Jim Page is saying the village is apathetic to the high school soccer program and he wants that to change.

Mike Peters saying the high school program doesn’t communicate when they are practicing and if they had been told that they would be watering, ect.

Page saying the village should know when they play soccer and when the season starts, saying they know when high school football starts. Peters saying he has no idea when high school football starts.

Page wants the village to hire a professional to take care of the soccer field. “You have no idea what you are doing.”

“The school is not without blame,” Page said. “They have dropped the ball and should be over here saying ‘Hey fix the field.'”

Page is claiming the field isn’t safe to play on. Wanting to know what the village will do to make the field safe to play on.

Page claiming Justin Franzen, the athletic director, hasn’t been out to see the condition of the field or he would have called the village.

Joe the village administrator is saying if they want a professional to maintain the field the use fees will increase.

The hot air balloon event was OKd by the mayor and I only saw positive feedback on it.

I really liked the soccer field at Hackler Park. It had a lot of shade, close parking, that pavilion for people to hang out in, and close playground equipment.

The village is going to talk to the school and will start watering.

They are discussing an easement agreement with Ameren. They are formalizing an agreement that is already there.

150th celebration permit time. See, the mayor is following the rules. The winery is holding a 5K that day.

Appropriation ordinance time. An appropriation is what they can spend, not what they have to spend and it can be modified.

Boy scout building appraisal came back. They will discuss it next meeting after Joe prepares a document, ect. The appraisal didn’t come back great, Joe said.

Tami met with the boy scout leader. They are going to communicate directly the village and the village will communicate directly to him.

Discussing CIMOA now. It’s a meeting for area municipalities. They network, discuss issues with other towns, ect.
