SO not only am I late to village board because #dancemom I am also outside typing this on the hood of my van because they are in executive session. Its wasn’t on the agenda but I am going to guess it has to do with some sort of litigation.
Why is my wifi failing me. Do better Verizon.
There’s nothing of note on the agenda tonight expect the appropriation ordinance which is what the village can spend for the upcoming fiscal year, not what they will spend.
And they may waive the fee for food trucks at the fall festival. #Iwontcallitaflop
They have had executive session three in 13 years. Twice for the incident with the water bills and now. That’s what I think it has to be litigation of some sort.
I am changing my has tag because someone pointed out there’s a curse word.
#Iamnotgoingtogointodetail.
I am in the building!
Making motions they talked about in the executive session. It was for litigation. #amipsychic? #no #ivejustcoveredthemfor13years #amiold?
They motion to direct the mayor to work with the attorney on clean-up on a blighted property. #anyonewanttoguesswhichone?
Meanwhile, Read my story on the new village administrator
Giving a shout out to Troop 40 for the awesome Fourth of July Parade. You can see photos on our Facebook.
There will be a sewer update meeting on August 10.
The Village Administrator is going to work out of village hall. Tami is moving to the annex. “It is kind of lonely and quiet over there.”
The village staff did a really nice job with the annex though. I was in there when they were painting.
Saturday morning at 8:30 a.m. there will be a ribbon-cutting at the Blend Spot. The entire board is saying how awesome the owners are. #theyseemlovely #peoplearesuperexcited
Luke is giving an update on village projects and drainage.
Luke talking about what they have done to keep the village from flooding. They are working hard and have done numerous things to keep the village from flooding.
Discussing the food truck vendor fee at the community festival. Basically, it doesn’t sound like food trucks- it’s carnival vendors. #Protectthecorndogsatallcost
I actually don’t really eat at the festival because I am too busy taking photos but are the carnival vendors really food trucks? I don’t think so but they are hashing it out.
Max Painter “You can’t worry about the competition. Competition is good. The more the merrier.”
Max and I are on the same page. It is not the boards job to regulate the free market.
Basically, it’s all carnival vendor food like corn dogs, elephant ears, funnel cakes, etc.
Discussing whether public health certifies the food vendors. They do. Don’t worry. #enjoythefairfood
They are waiving the food truck fee this year. But #youwillpayitnextyear.
I always think it’s weird when the village board gets into the weeds with the festival details because they don’t actually run the festival. It’s run by the Community Council which has village staff on it but isn’t run by the village so it’s confusing.
adjourned.
