The St. Joseph Record and Mayor Tami Fruhling-Voges are asking village residents to decorate their front windows, driveways or sidewalks.
Fruling-Voges said it would bring a little brightness to an otherwise serious situation.
Fruhling-Voges is encouraging residents to either put hearts in their windows, as a thank you to essential workers, or decorate their sidewalks and driveways so residents out exercising during the governors stay at home order can have a little joy on their walks.
Fruhling-Voges urged residents to consider a thank you to one of the many essential businesses in town.
“It’s just a way to tell them we appreciate what they are doing,” she said.
Residents should submit a photo of their artwork to the Record Facebook page so residents can look for the art on their walks.
Fruhling-Voges said she hopes the entire town will find a way to participate and once the pandemic has ended she plans on celebrating with residents.
Fruhling-Voges said the village would invite those who participated in the window decorating to a party in on the local parks.
“It is something for us all to look forward to,” she said.
