The St. Joseph Record was originally published on wood-pulp paper from
1894 to 1980.
The Record served Champaign and Vermilion County rural and suburban residents. The paper stressed local news that mattered to the readers it served.
It was published on Thursdays.
When we decided to form a news organization to serve the area we couldn’t think of a better newspaper to base it on.
Like the original Record we strive to share the news and stories that make our towns vital, unique and important. While the medium has changed, the purpose of the paper has not.
