Area Memorial Day events

Sunday
Penfield, Gifford area
The Penfield/Gifford American Legion Post 1153 and Auxiliary Unit 1153 will host ceremonies at 12:30 p.m. at the Penfield Veterans Memorial on the I&I grounds, in Penfield at 1 p.m. at Wells Cemetery and at 1:30 p.m. at Huls Cemetery in Gifford.

Royal
The Royal American Legion will host two Memorial Day Services. The first service will take place at Kopmann cemetery at 10 a.m. The second service will take place in Royal at 11.

Memorial Day, Monday
Homer
The Homer American Legion Post No. 290 will host a ceremony at 11 a.m. at Homer G.A.R. Cemetery. This ceremony will be followed by the American Legion Auxiliary’s annual smorgasbord at the Jack Ellis Community Center in Homer Village Hall, 500 E. Second St. Donations will be accepted.

Sidney
The Sidney American Legion Post 433 will host a ceremony at 10 a.m. at Mount Hope Cemetery, Sidney.

Ogden
The Village of Ogden will host a Memorial Day Ceremony at the American Legion Park, corner of East Main and North East Avenue at 11 a.m. If it rains the event will be held at the Ogden UMC.
