10 things you don’t know about me… Joe Hackney

1. What is a tv or movie you could watch over and over and why?

Lately, I’m really looking forward to watching Yellowstone. Movie-wise, my favorite movie without a doubt is V for Vendetta.

2. What is the best advice you have been given?

Life has a funny way of working out the way it is supposed to. Don’t force things – if it’s meant to be, it will be.

3. How do you unwind?

Spending time with my dog at one of the Forest Preserves in the area.

4. What is something you always carry with you?

My phone — unfortunately. Feels like a part of my body at this point.

5. Where is your favorite place to travel to and why?

Colorado, for sure. Love the Rockies.

6. What is your favorite thing about your job and why?

I like playing a part in getting the “big” things done. As an example, getting the funding schedule ironed out, and working through the planning process for these major infrastructure projects lately is extremely rewarding. These projects have been needed for quite a while, so getting them moving forward is exciting.

7. What is your go-to snack?

Banana and Peanut Butter.

8. What is your favorite childhood memory?

Anything involving my grandfather. From helping him mow, to looking at maps of the country, to watching westerns. I loved that time with him.

9. What is something that would surprise people about you?

I’m generally a private person by nature. I’ve never enjoyed having my name out in public for any reason, which is impossible to avoid in this type of job.

10. What is your favorite sports team?

Las Vegas Raiders. And its not a curable condition, unfortunately.
