We are here. Angela Page and Matt Wolfersberger are being appointed to the board. They are both sworn in. It’s official. They are replacing Jim Wagner and Dan Davis. They will have to run at the next caucus but that’s about a year away and then the next municipal election in April 2025.

Trick or Treat hours are on Halloween from 6 to 8 pm.

Jayne Deluce is here from Experience Champaign Urbana. She’s here to chat about the work they are doing on behalf of St. Joseph.

Saying, they advertise 50 miles and out because of a grant they got. So, they did surveys, focus groups, ect. “They “At the end of the day it’s about people finding us and then finding places around the entire county.”

The biggest tourist spots in St. Joe are the Wheelhouse, Salt Fork Paintball and Merchantile Antiques.

Saying IHSA is extending HS basketball for 5 years, not going back out to bid.

The marathon is coming back. The route is changing to include Savoy.

The village has a copy of the presentation if you are really interested. Saying they promoting St. Joseph because they shared info about the Santa 5K and the Taste of St. Joseph. They need people to send the info in though.

Angela Page asking if there is a point person. “There is no picture from China King or Padanos. It also has Scratch listed and it’s been closed a really long time.”

Deluce saying they use the chamber or the village to update info.

Discussing how the Chamber used to be the point person for info. I have been the Chamber president for a while now and I never remember that. Speaking of the Chamber- should we bring the egg hunt back? Also, Holly Jolly Kids Christmas is a Fire Tribe event but the Chamber helps out. Make sure to mark it down. Second Saturday in December. Santa is coming to town. I have it on good authority that the Grinch will be at the breakfast.

Tammy Vallee asking how the businesses in the guide were chosen. Saying there are a lot of areas that St. Joseph doesn’t get covered in such as a winery.
“I will follow up with you on that,” Deluce said.

Vallee also pointing out that there’s barely St. Joseph info on the website.

HALLOWEEN PARADE INFORMATION: OCT 28 AT 10 A.M. MEET AT VILLAGE HALL. The kids go to area businesses and get treats. #smallbusinesspromotion

Tami saying the sign at the sewer plant is required through the low-interest loan for the sewer plant updates. “We don’t have a choice,” she said.

Art saying the the construction company wasn’t allowed to move a shovel of dirt until it was put up.

MEETING ADJOURNED.
