Live at St. Joseph Village Board, Jan. 9, 2024

MX electric is sponsoring our live blogs. Relax and call Max!

They are discussing a bid for tree clearing. This is for the project near the high school.

John Trefzger of Mahomet is here to talk.

It’s Solar! He’s here to talk about Solar. Discussing solar rebates from the federal government. The solar panels would go out where the baseball diamond was at the sewer plant. He’s doing a deep dive on the cost and rebates. The real out of pocket for the village is just out of $105,000. Basically the rebates would pay 90 percent of the project. (That’s rough math on my part don’t yell at the village if it’s 87 percent)

Still talking about Solar. It’s very detailed. How they do it, how much it will cost, how much power it will create, ect.

Still talking about solar.

Solar is over. They are now discussing if they want to bid grass maintenance and grass treatment and if there are any changes.

The new ice machine is asking for a waive of the sewer charge. It’s by Kelso Heating and Cooling. Kinda. Basically, it’s a machine and you can go buy a bag of ice or a bucket or whatever. They are asking for a waiver because they aren’t hooked up to the sewer. They are waiving it.

The village owns the Baptist church now.

Art wants the village to subscribe to the News Gazette.

meeting adjourned.
