Live at SJO School Board, Special meeting

It’s a special meeting night. Construction on the relocate softball field could start as early as February so they need to decide where it is going.

Discussing parking. Ideally, Superintendent Brian Brooks wants to get away from people parking on the road for softball if they move softball to were baseball used to be. They are going to discuss a parking lot, batting cages and moving long jump and triple jump.

Softball could be going to be move to where baseball is. They want to re-fence that long fence that runs from home base to second and beyond at the former baseball diamond.

Brooks want to move long jump and triple jump.

Discussing the color of the track. Track could be black, columbia blue or red.

Endzones could be columbia blue or maroon.

Mitch wants to see the exchange zones as columbia blue, the end zones as maroon.

The blue track reminds me of EIU! #gobigblue

The football coaches would like the team boxes on the sidelines colored. #thiswouldbesohelpful.

Discussing parking now. They will gain spots.

This is all a lot of hypotheticals.

Discussing finances now. They have the cash but they will have to “borrow” money from different funds to make it happen.

They get $450,000 per year in sales tax money. #WOW

To recap: Softball will be move to where baseball is now. Triple Jump and Long Jump will be moving. The rest of the stuff will be voted on during the January 23 meeting. I really hope they do a blue track.
