Vickers looks to the future of Ogden

Sonja Vickers considers Ogden her forever home.

“I just want to see good done for the village for now and future generations,” she said.

Vickers is running for reelection to the village board on April 6.

After serving for many years, Vickers said she still has items she would like to accomplish.

“I am anxious to see the drainage improved, improve the roads and sidewalks and keep the infrastructure in good shape,” she said. “I want to encourage more businesses and families to come to the village.”

Vickers said the most rewarding part of being a trustee is working with her fellow residents to accomplish goals and better the community.

Vickers worked at Carle for 20 years and has two sons and a daughter. She is the grandmother to five and a great grandmother to five with another due in July.

She routinely volunteers at Prairieview-Ogden South and works with the Ogden Food Pantry. She is also active with the Ogden United Methodist Church.

“If it wasn’t for all the good people in Ogden I wouldn’t be able to accomplish all that I have accomplished,” Vickers said.
