Carson Maroon wants to have a job that supports people in their time of need.
“After high school, I hope to run in college and major in something to help people,” the St. Joseph-Ogden freshman said.
Maroon was nominated by his Head Coach Jason Retz for SJO’s Student-Athlete of the month.
Maroon said his favorite thing about being a student-athlete at SJO was his teammates.
“The best thing about being a student athlete at SJO is seeing your teammates in and out of school.” he said.
Retz said the Maroon had done his team and school proud this season.
“Carson is the number two freshman in the entire state for three miles,” Retz said. “He has been our number two runner all season long.”
Maroon said the most challenging part about being a student athlete at SJO was finding time to do homework but it was worth it.
He also said he was honored to be named student-athlete of the month.
“I feel really happy and excited that my coach nominated me for Athlete of the month.” he said.
