April 22, 2026 Local Stories in and Around St. Joseph, Illinois

Senior Spotlight… Ally Monk

What are your plans after you graduate from St. Joseph-Ogden?
After graduation, I plan on attending the University of Missouri to study either hospitality management or business marketing. I’m considering minoring in Spanish and/or digital storytelling.

If you could have dinner with three people who would they be?
My Grandpa Larry, who passed away in 2010), Indy Blue, my favorite travel vlogger) and Ellie Schnitt, who works for barstool and produces a super funny podcast.

Who is your biggest inspiration?
One of my biggest inspirations is my Grandpa Ernie. My grandpa has shown me how to work hard and be selfless. He’s the type of person I hope I can be just like one day!

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
In ten years I hope to see myself traveling the world through my career. At that point in my life, I hope I’m either working on an airplane as a flight attendant or on a cruise ship as a cruise director.

What is your favorite class and why?
My favorite class is Advanced Spanish IV with Señor Sutton. I enjoy going to Spanish every day because of the energy and dedication Señor puts into the class!
