Every month in season coaches at St. Joseph-Ogden High School nominate athletes to be the student-athlete of the month. A committee of out of season coaches selects the student-athlete of the month.
We then ask them five questions.
In July, the committee selected Keegan McCarty.
What is your favorite class at SJO?
Accounting because it’s my first class and we mostly talk and laugh throughout but we still work hard and occasionally the teacher brings in bagels or doughnuts.
What are your plans for after high school?
My plans are going to play college baseball, the where is pending, but I want to major in accounting.
What is the best thing about being a student-athlete at SJO?
The best thing about being a student-athlete at SJO is experiencing the winning atmosphere and adding onto the program’s accomplishments.
What is the most difficult thing about being a student athlete at SJO?
The most difficult thing is traveling during the week and waking up early the next day.
How does it make you feel to know your coach nominated you for Athlete of the Month?
It makes me feel proud of myself and the work I have done over the years to get better.
