DQ to hold fundraiser on May 13

The St. Joseph Dairy Queen wants to help out the St. Joseph Stanton Fire Protection District.

On May 13, the St. Joseph Dairy Queen will give 30 percent of its proceeds to the fire protection district.

The fundraiser will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. and includes any and all items on the Dairy Queen menu.

“We just want to help the fire department,” said Dairy Queen’s Bob Patel.

Fire Chief Josh Reese said the fire protection district appreciates the DQ supporting the district with the fundraiser.

“It will allow us to purchase some extra items for the inside of the new station that otherwise we would wait on,” Reese said.

This includes new tables, chairs, chair racks, hose drying racks, storage cabinets and other items for the new station.

“It’s nice to see support from local businesses and the community we serve,” Reese said. “We really appreciate DQ doing this fundraiser for the fire department and thank the community for their support.”
