Emmert expresses himself via artwork

St. Joseph-Ogden senior Nathan Emmert loves creating art work.

“I have always enjoyed making different kinds of art,” he said.

Emmert said his art class at SJO allows him to work with many different mediums.

SJO Art Teacher Jake Beccue said Emmert is a hard worker.

“Nathan puts in a lot of extra time outside of school on his projects,” he said. “Nathan puts more detail and effect into his project than what is required.”

Emmert , who wants to major in mechanical engineering in college, said the best part of being a fine arts student at SJO artwork able to express his artistic abilities to the fullest. He said the most difficult thing about being a fine arts student is getting art projects done on time while putting a lot of detail into them.

Beccue said it wasn’t just Emmert’s classroom accomplishments that made him a good nominee for Fine Arts Student of the Month. He also puts in many hours of work with the Art Club.

“Nathan has made big contributions to the art club with his time and efforts,” Beccue said.

Emmert said he is proud to be named Fine Arts Student of the Month.

“It makes me feel proud of what I am doing in class,” he said. “I am very grateful to have Mr. Beccue as my art teacher.”
